DeFi and AI Research Gets Peer-Reviewed Home in Groundbreaking Initiative

A new initiative is aiming to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and decentralized finance (DeFi) research and traditional academic publications. The call for papers, titled 'Economic Systems, Intelligent Agents, and Mechanism Design in Blockchain, DeFi, and AI,' seeks original research on topics such as MEV auction design, AMM mechanism analysis, and agent-to-agent payment frameworks.

The guest editors, YulinLiu20 and an unnamed collaborator, are targeting researchers who have been circulating preprints on these topics without finding a peer-reviewed home. They argue that existing academic infrastructure is not equipped to handle the interdisciplinary nature of DeFi and AI research.

The call welcomes original research papers, review articles, methods papers, and extended versions of previously presented work. The publication venues for accepted submissions will be Frontiers in Blockchain and Frontiers in AI, which are deliberately broad to accommodate researchers from economics, computer science, and quantitative finance.
