Google Streamlines Crypto Advertising Certification Process
Google has made changes to its certification process for cryptocurrency companies looking to advertise on the platform. In May 2026, a new update rolled out allowing eligible advertisers to apply for ad certification directly from their Google Ads accounts.
The simplified application process aims to make compliance easier to manage and streamline the certification process for advertisers. However, it's essential to note that despite the updated system, Google's actual crypto advertising rules remain strict.
Advertisers must still meet regulatory requirements, including obtaining local licenses, before their ads can go live. In the European Union, for example, exchanges and wallet providers must be authorized under the MiCA rules and register as CASPs (Crypto-Asset Service Providers).
