Trilateral Operation Seeks to Disrupt Crypto-Related Crime
The governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada have announced a collaborative effort to combat cryptocurrency-related crimes.
Known as 'Operation Atlantic', the initiative brings together law enforcement agencies from the three countries to tackle crypto fraud and organized crime. The operation will run for one week, during which time the agencies will work with private industry partners to identify victims of approval phishing scams.
Approval phishing is a type of scam in which scammers trick victims into signing off on fake wallet approval requests, granting them access to their funds. In some cases, scammers have drained millions of dollars from victim's wallets through this method.
