Franklin Templeton Touts Agentic AI as 'Killer Use Case' for Crypto
A senior executive at Franklin Templeton Digital Assets has identified agentic AI as a prime use case for blockchain and crypto, calling it a 'killer use case'.
Sandy Kaul's comments were highlighted by John Gillen, the former BlackRock VP and host of Milk Road Daily, who noted that most investors buy shares of AI-aligned companies to capture growth opportunities.
Gillen stated that this approach may not work for agentic AI, however, as legacy payment rails are inadequate for micropayments and AI agents cannot access traditional financial services.
Ethereum is seen as a key player in the development of decentralized blockchains for agentic commerce, which could reach $3 to $5 trillion by 2030.
