KRWQ Becomes First Korean Won Stablecoin to Verify Offchain Reserves with Chainlink
KRWQ, the world's largest Korean won stablecoin developed by IQ and Frax and built on Solana blockchain, has made history by integrating Chainlink Proof of Reserve for automated reserve verification. This move marks a significant turning point in the Korean won's presence in onchain finance.
The integration positions KRWQ as the first Korean won-backed stablecoin to use Chainlink's oracle technology for fully automated reserve verification. This addresses the long-standing trust issue that has plagued fiat-backed digital assets, where users and institutions need more than just promises of backing, they need proof.
Through a dedicated KRWQ Chainlink Data Stream, Chainlink Proof of Reserve provides tamper-proof, real-time verification of offchain reserves. This eliminates the need for manual attestations or periodic audits that can lag behind real-world reserve movements.
