Vietnam Slaps Crypto Traders with Steep Fines in New Decree

Decree No. 284/2026/ND-CP has been issued by the Government, imposing penalties on violations related to crypto assets and the crypto asset market.

For domestic investors, trading crypto assets without licensed providers will incur a fine of VND30 million to 50 million ($1,140-1,900), while trading with entities not in accordance with regulations will cost VND70 million to 100 million ($2,660 - 3,800).

The decree also addresses advertising and market organization, with fines ranging from VND180 million to 200 million ($6,800-7,600) for unlicensed activities.
