Lubin's Wallet Activity Highlights Risk Management in Cryptocurrency Market
A significant movement in Ethereum (ETH) holdings has taken place, with 110,000 ETH valued at approximately $170 million being relocated from a wallet associated with Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin. The funds were deposited into three Sky protocol vaults as additional collateral to back DAI loans. This transaction aimed to manage risk and mitigate exposure to liquidation.
The transfer occurred on June 6, during a period of intense selling pressure on Ethereum, causing the cryptocurrency's price to dip below $1,600. As a result, ETH temporarily lost its ranking as the second-largest digital asset by market capitalization to Tether's USDT.
