Coinbase Unveils AI-Powered Trading Tool for Agents

Coinbase has rolled out its AI-powered trading tool, Coinbase for Agents, designed to execute cryptocurrency trades and purchase premium research on behalf of users. This system integrates with Coinbase Advanced and supports spot and derivatives trading.

The agents leverage Coinbase's x402 payment protocol, enabling autonomous purchases of research APIs, data services, and compute resources without requiring separate subscriptions or logins.

Users can connect an agent directly to their Coinbase account or operate it within a separate sandbox environment. Additional controls for spending limits and permissions are planned for future releases.
