Visa Expands Stablecoin Settlement Pilot to Nine Blockchains
Visa's move into stablecoin settlement is gaining momentum as it expands its pilot to nine blockchains, including Arc, Base, Canton, Polygon, and Tempo. The company has reached an annualized run rate of $7 billion, up 50% from the prior quarter.
The addition of these five new chains brings the total number of supported networks to nine, with Visa testing whether stablecoins can become a parallel settlement option within payment infrastructure. This development suggests that stablecoins are becoming increasingly mainstream in the payment sector.
