White House Crypto Adviser Departs for Military Training Amid Ongoing Legislation Debates
White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt is taking temporary leave from his role to complete US Army National Guard training. The training will start on July 27 and last for an unspecified duration.
The timing of Witt's departure is significant, as lawmakers are currently debating major crypto bills in the Senate, including the CLARITY Act. Despite Witt's absence, a White House official stated that there would be no interruption to the president's digital assets agenda.
Witt joined the White House in 2025 after serving at the US Department of Defense and has played a key role in shaping the administration's digital asset plans. He will complete his training with the Georgia Army National Guard's Judge Advocate General programme before returning to the White House, where other officials will continue leading crypto policy work.
