Trump's Crypto Windfall: $1 Billion in Earnings Revealed
CNN's Erin Burnett interrupted her program on Tuesday to reveal that Donald Trump generated more than $1 billion last year from cryptocurrency business ventures, according to his mandatory financial report for 2025.
The report shows Trump collected $635 million in royalties from a company that issues the $TRUMP token he introduced three days before beginning his second term in office. He also reported over $500 million in income from World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency company established by his sons and the children of his special envoy, Steve Witkoff.
The income from Trump's latest financial disclosure exceeds his previous ones for 2024, when he disclosed over $600 million of income. The document also revealed Trump spent $10.7 million on a licensing fee for the Melania documentary.
CNN anchor Erin Burnett questioned the legitimacy of Trump's earnings, displaying a chart that showed investors appeared to have lost up to $2 billion from his crypto ventures. Former White House lawyer Ty Cobb characterized the crypto industry as 'slimy,' stating 'the average American should be staggered' by this outcome.
