Northeastern Kentucky Data Center Project Aims for Massive Energy Demand
A significant new data center development is underway in northeastern Kentucky. The Muskie Data Campus, a massive data storage facility, will be built by TeraWulf, a bitcoin mining company. According to estimates, the data center will consume more than one gigawatt of electricity, which is equivalent to powering over 800,000 average homes for an entire year.
The project's energy requirements are substantial and have sparked concerns among local residents about its potential impact on the community. To address these concerns, public meetings will be held in the near future to provide information and answer questions.
