Ronin Blockchain Transitions to Ethereum Layer 2 for Enhanced Security and Scalability

Ronin, the blockchain platform behind Axie Infinity, will undergo a significant architectural change on May 12. The network's transition to Ethereum Layer 2 is expected to enhance security, lower expenses, and increase scalability.

The upgrade will utilize OP Stack and connect with EigenDA for data availability. This move aims to improve the overall efficiency of the Ronin ecosystem.

Ronin warns users to complete any necessary transactions before the migration, as on-chain activities will be paused during the 10-hour downtime. This includes token transfers, smart contract interactions, marketplace activity, and blockchain-based gaming actions.
