Bitcoin Statue Unveiled at NYSE Amid Crypto's Growing Mainstream Acceptance

A statue of Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, has been unveiled at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), marking a significant cultural milestone for crypto on Wall Street. The installation was revealed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi on December 10, 2025, exactly one day after Twenty One Capital, a Bitcoin treasury firm led by Jack Mallers, began trading on the NYSE under the ticker XXI.

The sculpture is the sixth in Picozzi's series of 21, each reflecting the ethos of finitude and decentralization. The number of sculptures is deliberate, mirroring the total supply cap of Bitcoin at 21 million coins, which Nakamoto hardcoded to create digital scarcity.

The placement of the statue has significant weight, as December 10 marks the anniversary of the Bitcoin developer mailing list launch in 2008. This mailing list was the first public space where the Bitcoin whitepaper circulated among cryptographers and developers.
