Technodollar: Roubini's Tokenized Reserve Asset Tackles Crypto Volatility

Nouriel Roubini, a well-known critic of crypto's volatility and governance, has co-authored a whitepaper for a tokenized reserve asset called the Technodollar. This project, led by Atlas Capital Team's USAFi, aims to solve some of the fragilities Roubini has highlighted in the past.

The Technodollar is designed as a portfolio-backed token that represents exposure to the Atlas America Fund ETF (USA F). It will be issued as a permissionless ERC-20 under Dubai's VARA Asset-Referenced Rulebook and collateralized by the Atlas America Fund ETF with custody at BNY Mellon.

The tokenization stack is being provided by Securitize, allowing for 24/7 collateral portability. The underlying ETF has around $17 million in assets under management (AUM) as of its launch coverage, which may limit immediate capacity and market-making depth.
