Ripple Clears Last EU Regulatory Hurdle with CASP License
Ripple has cleared the last regulatory hurdle to operate freely in the European market. On July 6, 2026, Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) granted Ripple a full Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license.
This authorization comes just days after the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) transition period closed on July 1, 2026. The CASP license allows Ripple to offer its regulated crypto payments product to financial institutions and businesses across all 30 European Economic Area (EEA) countries.
Ripple joins a select group of around 280 firms holding full CASP authorization, including major names like Kraken and Coinbase. To secure this license, Ripple underwent a rigorous review of its governance, capital adequacy, management suitability, IT security, and anti-money-laundering controls.
