BitMEX Co-Founder Arthur Hayes Denies Soliciting Investments Through Social Media
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, has responded to criticism that his social media posts serve as 'exit liquidity' for followers. According to Hayes, he never instructs anyone to buy or sell a specific cryptocurrency and views his posts as merely sharing personal investment activity and market outlook.
In response to on-chain analyst ZachXBT's accusations, Hayes asked critics to find examples of when and to whom he directly instructed buying or selling a particular asset. He also stated that investors should make their own judgments and do their own research.
Hayes acknowledged that his past market predictions have been wrong about 70-90% of the time, but emphasized that investment performance depends on capital allocation rather than hit rate. He explained that he puts more capital into ideas with high conviction and limits exposure to trades with less confidence.
