The Forge Acquires Ben McKenzie's Cryptocurrency Documentary

The documentary 'Everyone Is Lying to You for Money', directed by Ben McKenzie, has been acquired by The Forge for North American distribution rights and international sales rights.

Based on McKenzie's best-selling book 'Easy Money: Cryptocurrency, Casino Capitalism, and the Golden Age of Fraud', the film delves into the world of cryptocurrency, exposing its darker aspects. It highlights how influencers, celebrities, and projects have pumped up crypto with false promises, leading to widespread scams.

The documentary also sheds light on regulatory warnings that were ignored, as well as real-life stories of people who lost their savings chasing the next big coin.

McKenzie's film arrives at a crucial time, as regulators crack down on crypto and trust in digital assets wavers. The Forge sees huge potential in the documentary, with CEO Mark Mathias Sayre describing it as 'urgent and darkly funny'.
