Societe Generale-FORGE Expands Euro-Backed Stablecoin to Stellar Blockchain
Societe Generale-FORGE has made significant strides in its efforts to establish itself as a major player in the digital asset market with the launch of its euro-backed stablecoin, EUR CoinVertible (EURCV), on the Stellar blockchain. This move is part of the company's multichain strategy for regulated digital asset infrastructure, which aims to provide users with greater flexibility and convenience when using digital assets.
The EURCV stablecoin has already been launched on Ethereum in April 2023 and on the XRP Ledger earlier this year. The stablecoin is fully backed by reserves consisting of bank deposits and high-quality liquid assets, providing a secure and reliable store of value for users. With its launch on Stellar, EURCV is now available to a wider range of users, including those in the European Economic Area who are subject to the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
The Stellar deployment offers high transaction throughput, low network fees, and built-in support for tokenized assets. The network also includes a decentralized exchange that allows users to trade digital assets directly on-chain. This move is expected to further increase the adoption of EURCV as a widely accepted stablecoin in the digital asset market.
