Ripple Exec Warns of '90% Chance' Imposter Scams on Social Media

Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz has issued another warning to the cryptocurrency community about the growing threat of impersonation scams on social media. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his concern, stating that there is a '90% chance' of interacting with an imposter when engaging with someone claiming to be him on Instagram.

According to Schwartz, anyone who claims to be him on Instagram, Telegram, or other platforms is likely a scammer. He clarified that he has no active presence on Instagram and hasn't used his account in years.

Schwartz's warning comes as part of an ongoing effort to educate the crypto community about the dangers of impersonation scams. These scammers often use images and profile pictures of top industry leaders, including Ripple executives, to appear legitimate and trick unsuspecting users into sending cryptocurrency or sharing personal information.
