Traditional Finance Challenges Crypto's 24/7 Trading Advantage

The cryptocurrency market's advantage of offering 24/7 trading is being challenged by traditional financial institutions. CME, Binance, and NYSE are launching products that allow traders to access traditional assets like crude oil and US stocks at any time.

CME plans to launch 24/7 mini-sized WTI crude oil futures and extend 24/7 trading to its existing 1-ounce gold futures. This move is aimed at providing regulated products with appropriate contract sizes available 24/7 for traders to manage risk exposure when news breaks.

Binance, on the other hand, has launched bStocks, a tokenized stock gateway that allows users to trade US stocks like NVDA and TSLA using liquidity from Binance's main exchange. NYSE/ICE is also developing its own 24/7 tokenized securities and on-chain settlement platform.

These products compete with Hyperliquid's ability to trade traditional assets anytime, which was previously rewarded by the market. However, CME doesn't aim to replicate Hyperliquid's high leverage and on-chain experience; instead, it provides an alternative form of 24/7 access that is more traditional, compliant, and easily accepted by the existing financial system.
