Bitmine, a company led by Tom Lee, has made headlines with its recent acquisition of 65,000 Ethereum in a single day. This massive purchase brings Bitmine's total holdings to over 5.07 million ETH, accounting for more than 4.2% of the entire circulating supply.
According to on-chain data tracked by Arkham Intelligence, Bitmine's wallet activity spiked sharply, with over 626,000 ETH in verified on-chain holdings valued at more than $1.4 billion. A significant portion of this acquisition was made through a single block purchase worth $44.8 million via FalconX, an institutional trading platform.
Tom Lee and Bitmine's strategic move is rooted in their conviction that Ethereum is nearing the end of a 'mini-crypto winter'. As part of their strategy, they have staked 3.7 million ETH, generating an estimated $363 million in annual yield.
