US Lawmakers Introduce Mined in America Act to Bolster Digital Asset Infrastructure
Washington D.C. - In a bid to bolster its position as a global leader in cryptocurrency, the United States government has introduced legislation aimed at supporting the country's digital asset infrastructure. The Mined in America Act, sponsored by Senators Cynthia Lummis and Bill Cassidy, seeks to strengthen US digital asset infrastructure by promoting domestic mining operations and reducing reliance on foreign-made hardware.
The bill proposes establishing a voluntary certification framework for domestic mining operations, which would be required to phase out hardware tied to foreign adversaries. In exchange, certified facilities would gain access to existing federal energy and rural development programs, supporting the transition to secure and energy-efficient systems.
