Christina Lake Data Centre Conversion Sparks Community Concerns

The recent conversion of a bitcoin-mining centre near Christina Lake to an AI data centre is raising eyebrows among local residents.

Located about one kilometre from the Canada-U.S. border on BC Highway 395, the facility is owned by DMG Blockchain Solutions and has been granted approval under existing zoning regulations.

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) received inquiries from concerned residents regarding the mass clearing of land and arrival of equipment at the site.
