Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson Seeks Discord Migration Amid Governance Controversies
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has proposed moving the community's activity from X to Discord due to ongoing governance disputes and controversies. According to Hoskinson, future community discussions and AMA questions will take place through dedicated Discord channels, which he believes will provide a more positive and well-moderated space for community engagement.
The proposal follows weeks of public disagreements within the Cardano ecosystem, including governance decisions, treasury spending, and allegations regarding historical ADA movements. Hoskinson has repeatedly stated that he no longer controls treasury spending or protocol direction, urging community members to take greater responsibility for network decisions.
Cardano's move towards decentralized governance through the Voltaire era has been marked by increased scrutiny, with several Cardano-linked projects reporting operational difficulties and cancelling events due to governance process outcomes. Meanwhile, market participants continue to track regulatory developments tied to ADA, including proposed U.S. spot crypto ETF listing standards that require a regulated futures market to operate for at least six months.
