S&P Unveils New Institutional Crypto Index Excluding Bitcoin

The S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital have launched an 18-asset benchmark called the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index, aimed at institutional investors seeking a more structured way to evaluate crypto assets.

The index excludes Bitcoin and meme coins, instead focusing on assets with real-world use, measurable revenue, liquidity, listing standards, and sufficient market history.

The five largest holdings in the index are Ethereum (ETH), BNB, Solana (SOL), Tron (TRX), and Hyperliquid (HYPE).

The index weights its constituents by float-adjusted market capitalization, combining traditional market structure with a fundamentals-focused screening process.
