Ripple Clears Key DeFi Hurdle with XRPL Lending Protocol Re-Audit
Ripple has achieved a significant milestone for decentralized finance (DeFi) on the XRP Ledger after completing a re-audit of the XRPL Lending Protocol. Halborn, a leading blockchain security company, conducted a comprehensive review from December 2025 to January 2026, focusing on substantial code changes since the protocol's previous security review in the summer.
The audit aimed to verify that the updated implementation remained compliant with the XLS-0066d standard while maintaining strong security standards. Halborn reviewed transaction validation mechanisms, access controls, state consistency, and parameter verification processes using a multi-layered methodology.
The re-audit produced encouraging results, with no critical or high-severity vulnerabilities discovered. However, five findings were reported, all of which were transparently addressed by Ripple's developers before the audit began. These issues included a missing validation check that could have allowed a vault's total assets to exceed predefined limits and a potential issue with creating a LoanBroker on a frozen vault.
