Musk's Fading Grip on Dogecoin: Price Impact Weakening Amid Broader Crypto Markets
Elon Musk's relationship with Dogecoin has turned a joke currency into one of the most recognized names in crypto. In 2019, he tweeted about his fondness for the coin and later confirmed that he personally holds it, along with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
In July 2021, Musk joked at a conference that all three assets are just 'ASCII hash strings.'
However, Dogecoin has consistently received his strongest public support. Several specific moments show the pattern clearly: on April 1, 2021, he tweeted that SpaceX would put a literal Dogecoin on the moon.
This promise led Geometric Energy Corporation to book $DOGE-1, an 88-pound CubeSat mission funded entirely in Dogecoin with SpaceX as the launch partner.
