BlackRock Paves Way for XRP ETF Amid Surge in Institutional Interest
Financial analyst Jake Claver predicts that BlackRock will file for an XRP ETF in the near future. This move is expected to boost the price of XRP, which may need a significantly higher price to be used at scale for settlement-related functions tied to institutional infrastructure.
Claver's comments follow a surge of institutional interest in the XRP Ledger and related products. Several key partnerships with Ripple and XRPL have come into existence since 2025, including tokenized lending projects with the RLUSD stablecoin.
BlackRock is expanding its crypto ETF product line, with its Bitcoin Premium Income ETF set to debut on Nasdaq on June 16. Claver expects a breakout above $1.30 for XRP and notes that once the price is high enough, institutions like SWIFT and the DTCC will start using the XRP Ledger for real-time settlement.
Torteman, director of XRPL Commons, mentioned earlier this year that financial giants such as Mastercard, BlackRock, and Franklin Templeton had shown interest in the XRP Ledger ecosystem. This move by BlackRock could have spurred Claver's recent remarks.
