$XRP Seen as a Leader in Quantum Threat Mitigation
Crypto expert Versan Aljarrah has highlighted the risk of quantum computers breaking the cryptographic systems used by major blockchains. In a recent discussion, he explained that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP all rely on elliptic curve cryptography, which could potentially become vulnerable if quantum computing advances far enough.
According to Aljarrah, updating the cryptography in Bitcoin or Ethereum would require complex upgrades or hard forks, which could destabilize their networks. In contrast, the $XRP Ledger can upgrade its cryptography through validator consensus at the protocol level without disruptions and long debates, giving it an edge over its rivals.
The $XRP Ledger's ability to adapt to new security standards is due in part to its crypto-agility feature, which allows validators to switch to new signing algorithms across the entire network through consensus. This feature enables the network to adjust quickly if new security standards become necessary.
