XRP Ledger Hits 1 Million AI-Driven Transactions
The XRP Ledger has reached a significant milestone by processing over 1 million AI-driven transactions via its x402 protocol. This marks the first concrete sign that autonomous AI agents are using public blockchains as live payment rails.
Ayo Akinyele, Head of Engineering at RippleX, projects this volume to grow between 10 million and 100 million transactions in the coming years. The growth is attributed to the launch of the XRPL AI Hub by t54.ai, a Ripple-backed entity that integrates payment functionality with AI agents.
The x402 protocol positions the XRP Ledger as a potential settlement layer for the emerging agentic economy, where AI agents autonomously perform tasks, including making payments. The network's speed and low transaction costs make it a plausible candidate to support this growth.
