Mantle Offers Aave Vital Support with $68 Million Aid Package

A recent vote on the Snapshot platform initiated by the Mantle Foundation has resulted in a significant financial aid package being offered to Aave DAO, totaling up to 30,000 Ether.

This intervention targets the financial instability Aave is facing after the rsETH exploit that occurred earlier in April. The attacker infiltrated the system, depositing 89,567 unsecured rsETH and borrowing about $190 million in various cryptocurrencies.

The bad debt incurred by Aave as a result of this exploit has been reported to range from $123.7 million to $230.1 million. Mantle's loan is designed to tackle both the direct debt issues and broader liquidity concerns within Aave's operations, aimed at restoring equilibrium in its ecosystem.
