Injective Seeks SEC Transfer Agent Status to Bring Tokenized Securities Records Onchain
Injective has filed for transfer agent registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), aiming to bring tokenized securities ownership records onto blockchain infrastructure.
The proposed system would connect legal shareholder records with sub-second blockchain settlement systems, providing a regulated pathway to issue securities onchain.
Injective targets a regulated securities record system, which is a core role in U.S. securities markets. Transfer agents perform functions such as recording ownership changes, maintaining security holder records, and handling administrative tasks for issuers.
The SEC says that a transfer agent must register with the appropriate regulator before performing transfer agent functions for qualifying securities.
