Cryptocurrency Scammer Meta-1 Coin's Operator Sentenced to 23 Years in Prison

Robert Dunlap, the mastermind behind the cryptocurrency scam Meta-1 Coin, has been handed a severe punishment by a U.S. court.

The court found Dunlap guilty of defrauding over 1,000 investors through a fake investment project that promised unusually high returns.

Dunlap claimed that his 'Meta-1 Coin' was backed by $44 billion in gold reserves and $1 billion worth of artworks, including pieces by Picasso, Dali, and Van Gogh.

However, an investigation revealed that these assets did not exist. Instead, Dunlap used automated trading bots to create the illusion of profits on his 'Meta Exchange' website.
