SEC and Justin Sun Settle Tron Case for $10 Million
The SEC and Justin Sun have brought an end to their long-standing legal battle after reaching a settlement worth $10 million. This resolution marks the culmination of a nearly three-year-long dispute that had significant implications for the Tron ecosystem.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rainberry Inc., a company controlled by Sun and linked to the BitTorrent protocol, will pay a $10 million civil penalty. In return, the SEC has agreed to dismiss all remaining claims against Sun personally, as well as those involving the Tron DAO and the BitTorrent Foundation.
The settlement removes a regulatory cloud that had been cast over several projects tied to Sun, allowing them to operate without uncertainty. This development is particularly significant given the growing importance of cryptocurrencies in the global economy.
