Pakistan Seeks Digital Economy Alignment with AI Policy Reforms

A recent policy hackathon at National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) in Karachi has produced a set of forward-thinking recommendations on artificial intelligence (AI) governance, cryptocurrency regulation, and national data infrastructure.

The event, titled 'Governing AI and Digital Assets', brought together 32 civil servants, policymakers, government officials, technology experts, and young researchers to collaborate on developing actionable policy proposals.

Experts emphasized the need for integrating millions of unregistered cryptocurrency users into a formal legal framework, which could significantly expand Pakistan's tax base and boost national revenue.
