Grayscale Seeks SEC Approval for First Worldcoin ETF
Grayscale has filed an application with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch the first Worldcoin ETF in the country. This move follows the launch of spot ETFs for several altcoins, including XRP, Solana, and HYPE.
The Grayscale Worldcoin ETF will hold WLD directly if approved, allowing investors to gain exposure to the asset through a regulated investment product without having to buy or hold the token directly. The fund is planned to be listed on the Nasdaq Exchange under the ticker symbol GWLD.
According to the S-1 filing submitted to the SEC, the fund will follow a passive investment strategy and use BitGo Bank & Trust for custody services. This move has already sparked market interest, with WLD's price rising by approximately 4-5% following the news.
