UBS, Nethermind Show Banks Can Add Compliance Checks on Ethereum
UBS and Nethermind have completed joint tests to show how banks can add compliance checks on top of Ethereum without changing the blockchain.
The Zurich-based bank with $6.9 trillion in invested assets, UBS, partnered with Nethermind, an Ethereum infrastructure company, for the tests.
The tests took place in Sepolia, an Ethereum test network, and did not involve live transactions.
UBS's group head of digital assets, Andreas Kubli, said that the results show banks can keep public-network access while adding institutional controls.
