Pakistan Gang Rape Case Takes Bizarre Turn as Attackers Demand Cryptocurrency Access

A new twist has emerged in the gang rape case of two foreign women in Pakistan. The victims claim that the attackers were primarily trying to gain access to cryptocurrency worth millions, rather than seeking a conventional ransom.

The investigation began after one of the complainants, Astrid Gabriela Robinson Bracho, recorded her statement before a judicial magistrate under Section 164 of Pakistan's Criminal Procedure Code.

Astrid alleged that she and her friend, Stephani Adriana, were staying in Lahore when armed men entered their house on June 29. The attackers demanded access to cryptocurrency holdings and repeatedly asked for passwords.

According to Astrid's statement, the accused became increasingly violent and threatened to kill both women if they refused to hand over the cryptocurrency.
