A new bill introduced in the US Congress aims to establish a strategic bitcoin reserve, marking a significant development in the country's approach to cryptocurrency management.
Rep. Nick Begich, R-Alaska, is leading the effort with his American Reserve Modernization Act (ARMA), which seeks to codify President Donald Trump's 2025 executive order and provide a durable legal foundation for the reserve.
The bill has garnered bipartisan support, with over a dozen co-sponsors in Congress, including Rep. Pat Harrigan, R-N.C., who emphasized the need for a strategic home for the existing stockpile of seized bitcoin.
