Cardano's Midnight Network Enters Mainnet Phase with Enhanced Privacy
Cardano's Midnight network has officially entered its mainnet phase, signaling a major breakthrough in blockchain technology. Dubbed as 'the world's first fourth generation of blockchain', Midnight is designed to deliver end-to-end privacy that is flexible and enforceable at the protocol level.
The development of Midnight spans over six years, with its conception dating back more than eight years ago according to Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson. He stated in a video clip ahead of the launch: 'We started Midnight more than eight years ago. It left the R&D two years into it. So for about six years, we've been building.'
The dual-component economic model employed by Midnight addresses token volatility concerns. By separating the asset used to govern and secure the network from the resource used to pay for transactions, operational costs remain predictable. This innovative approach opens up a path towards a future where users may no longer need to hold or manage volatile crypto assets.
