Trump's Crypto Windfall: Family Ventures Earn Him Over $1.4 Billion in 2025
President Donald Trump's financial disclosure has revealed that his family's cryptocurrency ventures earned him over $1.4 billion in 2025, contributing significantly to his total income of $2.2 billion for the year.
In a CNBC interview on July 2, Trump claimed he was unaware of the crypto investments before the release of his financial disclosure, which showed that nearly $800 million came from World Liberty Financial, a company co-founded by his sons Eric, Donald Jr., and Barron Trump. Another $635 million was earned from the sale of the $TRUMP meme coin.
Trump's massive earnings have sparked criticism from his opponents, who argue he has used his position to profit from the crypto industry. Critics point out that Trump's policies since taking office have benefited the crypto sector, including implementing federal rules for stablecoins and dialing back regulations on the industry.
