Project Eleven Quantifies Quantum Threat to Blockchain Security
Project Eleven has published a report that explores the potential impact of quantum computers on blockchain security.
The report, titled The Quantum Threat to Blockchains, predicts that a cryptographically relevant quantum computer (CRQC) will be developed by 2033. This is based on an analytical framework for measuring progress toward the development of a CRQC, which takes into account the latest research from Google and other leading quantum researchers.
The report also provides a comprehensive vulnerability analysis of the blockchain ecosystem, highlighting potential security risks and recommending steps that enterprises and protocols can take to prepare for the transition to post-quantum signatures.
