Cardano Founder Praises XRP Ledger Design

In a recent discussion, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, expressed admiration for the XRP Ledger's Unique Node List (UNL) design. The UNL system is a key component of the XRP Ledger, allowing nodes to choose trusted validators and maintain consensus.

Hoskinson's praise came during an X Spaces session hosted by XRP community figures and featuring David Schwartz, former Ripple CTO and one of the original architects of the XRPL. He thanked Schwartz for his help during Cardano's glacier drop, which used the XRP Ledger as one of its networks.

According to Hoskinson, working with the XRP Ledger gave his team a chance to explore different blockchain designs. He admitted that he had not thoroughly examined the XRP Ledger since around 2013 and had only recently delved into its consensus system.

The Cardano founder specifically highlighted the use of negative UNLs in the XRP Ledger, which helps maintain network stability by temporarily removing inactive or unreliable validators.
