FaZe Clarifies Status of 'broky' After Tribute Video Misinterpretation
FaZe Esports clarified the status of their Latvian AWP specialist Helvijs 'broky' Saukants, confirming he remains under contract despite a recent tribute video.
The confusion began when FaZe posted a 'Goodbye broky' video on July 7, 2026, which many assumed was an announcement of his departure from the team. However, in a statement released this week, the organization clarified that the video was meant as a celebratory tribute to broky's nearly seven years of service with FaZe.
Brocky joined FaZe's starting lineup in September 2019 and has been one of the longer-serving players in the organization's CS history. He was previously benched in May 2025 before returning to the active lineup, and his current benching follows a similar pattern - a roster adjustment rather than a severance.
The 'Goodbye broky' video was sponsored by Rollbit, a crypto-adjacent gaming and wagering platform. While some may see this as an unusual communications choice, FaZe's clarification suggests the intent was to celebrate broky's tenure with the team, not signal his departure.
