Bitcoin-Altcoin Rotation Collapses as Market Concentrates on Large-Cap Assets
A long-standing pattern in cryptocurrency markets has weakened significantly since 2021. Data from CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju shows that capital rotation from Bitcoin into smaller cryptocurrencies has declined sharply.
The trend is reflected in BTC-denominated altcoin trading volumes, which have remained near multi-year lows despite Bitcoin's strong market performance. This suggests that investors are no longer rotating capital into smaller tokens at the same pace seen in earlier cycles.
Ju stated that the 'Bitcoin-to-altcoin asset rotation' has 'basically disappeared'. He noted that BTC-pair altcoin volume has collapsed since 2021, indicating a significant change in market behavior.
