Japanese Logistics Giant AZ-COM Maruwa Doubles Supply of Regulated Yen Stablecoin
A Japanese logistics giant has made waves in the crypto space by deploying a regulated yen stablecoin to its subcontractors. AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings, a major third-party logistics provider and Amazon delivery partner in Japan, is using the JPYC stablecoin to pay roughly 2,300 subcontractors and independent drivers.
The company has invested ¥1 billion, matching the entire prior cumulative issuance of JPYC, which sat between ¥1 billion and ¥1.3 billion before this deal. This move more than doubles the supply of Japan's first regulated yen stablecoin, JPYC.
JPYC was launched on October 27, 2025, as a yen-pegged digital asset with a 1:1 peg to the Japanese yen, backed by bank deposits and Japanese government bonds. It operates on public blockchains including Avalanche, Ethereum, and Polygon.
