BitGo Bolsters Crypto-as-a-Service Platform with Lightning Network Integration

BitGo has made a notable addition to its Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform with the integration of Lightning Network support. This development allows partners to offer near-instant, low-fee Bitcoin transactions to their customers without having to manage Lightning nodes themselves.

The CaaS platform is a white-label toolkit that enables B2B and B2B2C partners to build crypto-powered products on top of BitGo's infrastructure. With the addition of Lightning support, clients can now send and receive payments directly from BitGo's custody environment using the network's pre-funded payment channels.

BitGo has partnered with Voltage, an enterprise-grade Lightning infrastructure provider, to handle the channels, liquidity, and key management responsibilities. This collaboration creates a vertically integrated stack where Voltage handles the Lightning-specific infrastructure, and BitGo focuses on custody and compliance.
