Taiko Compromised: Urgent Security Notice Issued After Chain State Verification Breach
Taiko, an Ethereum-based rollup protocol, has issued an urgent security notice after its chain state verification mechanism was compromised. The team warned that users should withdraw their funds immediately due to this breach.
The incident highlights growing concerns over bridge vulnerabilities in DeFi, following a string of major exploits in 2026. Notable breaches have hit Gravity Bridge ($5.4 million), Axelar-Secret Network ($4.67 million), Alephium TokenBridge ($815,000), and Hyperbridge ($2.5 million).
Taiko's team is actively coordinating with the Security Council and ecosystem partners to contain the incident, pause affected systems where possible, and take all necessary technical and legal actions. Users are advised to withdraw their funds from all bridges deployed on Taiko immediately.
