SecondFi Hacked: 16.1M ADA Stolen Amid Cardano Security Concerns
A recent exploit targeting SecondFi, a wallet service on the Cardano blockchain, has resulted in the theft of 16.1 million ADA tokens worth approximately $2.4 million.
The breach occurred due to a flaw in the wallet's transaction-signing software that allowed attackers to derive private key material from signing data.
Fortunately, hardware wallets and the Cardano network were not affected by this exploit.
SecondFi has chosen to shut down operations as a result of the breach, and is planning to release export tools for users in early August, followed by a zero-knowledge recovery portal later that month.
